COVID-19 Operations Update

July 31, 2020

We are pleased that Governor Whitmer, by her EO No. 2020-153, & 2020-161 has continued to provide guidelines that allow Torresen Marine to be open and operational. We continue to work under strict safety guidelines and social distancing.

Our primary focus remains the health of our customers and safety of our employees. We are following the CDC requirements, along with additional steps, to assure we can remain in operation.

The end of March and beginning of April is when we are typically getting the boatyard ready for launching season. As you can guess, we are all around 5 weeks behind schedule.

In compliance with CDC requirements, we are restricting in person customer/employee interactions. If you need to communicate with us please call 231-759-8596 or send an email –

We have started launching, high water and all.  There will be no appointments this season. All launches will be done without an owner or representative being present. A three day window is requested after the last time you are on your boat before we will launch it.
As always, we will deliver a boat to any slip on Muskegon Lake at no additional cost to you. There will also be the option to pick up your boat the evening after it is launched.

The Executive Order allows for preparation, launching, delivery or dockside pickup of boats in storage, provided the business, their employees and customers adhere to enhanced social distancing guidelines. We will be continuing to provide retail sales from our ships store with no customer contact and curbside pickup.

Parking lots, customer docks, and other outdoor areas are open, but social distancing (minimum of 10′) and PPE (masks) are required to be at the marina. Inside storage is accessible by appointment only. The ship’s store, main office and service office are strictly employees only at this time.

Our customers play an important part in keeping yourselves, our staff and other boaters safe. Complying with the CDC requirements can help assure we don’t lose the opportunity to boat again. The following restrictions are in place: you can only boat with people from the same household, follow social distancing (10’) and you are required to wear PPE while on marina property.

IF you are considering not launching this summer, please let us know as soon as possible.
